AA is fooling its members over petrol prices
Colin Howden, Director of Transform Scotland, said:
"The AA is fooling its members if it thinks that substantially lower petrol prices can be brought about. Britain is now a net importer of oil and, as we move towards Peak Oil, the prospects are for substantially higher prices. The AA would be better off advising its members how to get greater fuel economy by using fuel-efficient vehicles, eco-driving techniques and driving at more fuel-efficient speeds. If there is an inequity that the Government should be tackling it is public transport prices - as these have risen substantially more than the price of car use."
