Call for Scottish Parliament to support high-speed rail
Transform Scotland have published its parliamentary briefing sent to all MSPs ahead of today's Scottish Parliament debate on high-speed rail.
In the paper, Transform Scotland set out our views on high-speed rail; in summary, our views are:
- We are in favour of Anglo-Scottish HSR
- Development of HSR should not prejudice development of the existing network
- Delivery of HSR services does not require High-Speed Lines on the entire route length from London to Scotland
- We do not support HSR solely within Scotland
- We consider maglev to be an irrelevant distraction.
