On Track For Business Report makes case for for rail use for business travel
We launched our new report ‘On Track for Business: Why Scottish businesses should try the train’ at the end of October. The report challenges Scottish businesses to save money and benefit the environment by using the train for business travel between Edinburgh and London.
A Parliamentary reception was held to coincide with the report launch, hosted by Edinburgh Central MSP Marco Biagi. This drew over 50 attendees from Scottish businesses, the rail industry and the public sector to highlight the advantages of switching from air to rail travel. Biagi also put down a Motion in support of the report which drew the support of half of the SNP parliamentary group.
We’re now looking at how we can continue to make the case for travel to be transferred from air to rail on routes across the Border from Scotland. Clearly there’s a long way to go on this given the Scottish Government’s subsequent decision to strike a deal with easyJet for its own business travel.
