How to make better trains
Transform Scotland has today published its
response to the Network Rail consultation 'Network RUS Passenger Rolling Stock — Draft for Consultation'.
Colin Howden, Director of Transform Scotland said:
"Amongst other things, we have called for Network Rail to improve level access on to trains. One of the advantages that rail should offer is the ability for passengers to easily access trains. Our response highlights some examples where new-build platforms have increased the gaps in height and distance on to trains. This is good for no-one, but is especially unhelpful for those many people with mobility impairments."
