Increase in two-car households
Commenting on the Scottish Government's statistical bulleting 'Household transport in 2007', available at <

Colin Howden, Director of Transform Scotland, said:
"It's hardly surprising to see an ever-increasing reliance on cars. With a multi-billion road-building programme, and new subsidies to car use in the form of the removal of bridge tolls and hospital parking charges, drivers are being given the green light to keep on motoring."There is of course no prospect of the Government's ambitious climate change targets being met without radical action to reduce car reliance. Unfortunately, most of the Government's current interventions are reinforcing car use rather than tackling unsustainable trends."
