Now even less reason to fly to London
Welcoming the launch of East Coast's 'Flying Scotsman' service from Edinburgh to London, Paul Tetlaw said:
"We welcome the launch of the new four-hour 'Flying Scotsman' Edinburgh to London express train. In these times of ever increasing concern over climate change and depleting oil supplies we need our transport systems to help reduce our dependency on oil and reduce our CO2 emissions."Taking the train as opposed to flying not only helps with both these concerns but also offers a more relaxing and, for business people, a more productive way of travelling between our capital cities."Transform Scotland are represented on the Flying Scotsman's launch service by Board member Lawrence Marshall (see above, on the train this morning) and Director Colin Howden.
