Response to DfT HGVs consultation

Transform Scotland has published its response to the UK Department for Transport proposals for higher speed limits for HGVs 'Examining the speed limit for heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes on single carriageway roads'.

In Transform Scotland's response, we rejects the proposal to increase speed limits to 50mph "because the current speed limit is widely ignored and not enforced. We feel that increasing the limit to 50 mph will encourage even higher average speed".

Transform Scotland is encouraging its members to also respond to the consultation.
