Response to Network Rail plans for the East Coast Rail Line
Transform Scotland has today published its response to Network Rail's consultation (which ends on Monday 1st November).
The response calls for Network Rail strategy for the East Coast Main Line to focus on delivering:
- Reduced journey times
- Better journey opportunities to North and Midlands
- Infill electrification and further use of electric traction.
And for Government to:
- Amend its appraisal methodology in order to better value the contribution of rail to Government objectives.
