Support for 'Re-Bridge the Gap' campaign

Transform Scotland have added its support to the 'Re-Bridge the Gap' campaign.

Director Colin Howden said:

"The pedestrian environment of Edinburgh's Waverley Station is long overdue for a revamp and Network Rail's recent announcement that it intends to replace the station roof is to be welcomed.

"However, Network Rail's plans fail to make provision for reinstating the pedestrian footbridge across the Waverley Valley. This would provide an important pedestrian link between the Old Town towards Leith Street, the St James Centre and onwards to Leith. As such, we're very happy to add our support to the Re-Bridge the Gap campaign."
