Sustainable transport investment required from Pre-Budget Report
The following organisations have today issued a parliamentary briefing, jointly produced jointly by:
- Friends of the Earth Scotland
- Ramblers Scotland
- Scottish Association for Public Transport
- Spokes
- Sustrans
- Transform Scotland
- WWF Scotland
The briefing concerns this afternoon's (Wednesday 3rd December) parliamentary debate: Scottish Government's Response to the Pre-Budget Report.
In order to deliver sustainable investment in transport, our organisations believe that the Government should bring forward plans for:
* Electrification of the Scottish inter-city rail network
* Investment in the most sustainable modes of transport – walking and cycling.
