Transform Scotland vacancy: new Chair required!
Transform Scotland is the national alliance for sustainable transport, bringing together organisations from the private, public and voluntary sectors. We are widely acknowledged amongst our peers for our expertise in and commentary upon sustainable transport issues. We are looking for a new Chair as our current Chair, John Pinkard, has recently moved to work overseas.
We are looking for an experienced Chairperson, with a good all-round knowledge of campaigning, to help represent the organisation to external audiences.
We want to find someone who can help in being a public face for the organisation, including, on occasion, helping with public speaking, broadcast media appearances, and representing the organisation at meetings with politicians & other organisations. The Chair will also be expected to chair Board meetings (4 times per year) and Executive Committee meetings (7-8 times per year) & maintain frequent contact with the Director. It is likely that the role would involve a time commitment of 2-4 days per month.
Our ideal candidate will already be an experienced chairperson, have a good all-round knowledge and experience of campaigning in the UK, and/or have a background in transport or related fields. The successful candidate will also become a Board member of Transform Scotland and will hold office for a 3-year term initially. The Chair and other Board member positions are not remunerated but expenses will be reimbursed.
