New video 'Transform our Cities'

Transform Scotland have published a new campaign video 'Transform our Cities', prepared by Anna Brand, which encourages sustainable transport choices as a way to improve our cities.

The video, created with the help of the Young Scot Creative Enterprise Fund, encourages active travel and the use of public transport to reduce noise and air pollution as well as improve public health.

Anna Brand, creator of the video, commented:

"Cities need to become spaces that are really focused on the people and the communities within them. Current levels of traffic within cities are oppressive, both because of the noise and the levels of air pollution, which in certain areas reach dangerous levels and exceed EU regulations.

"What we need is a transformation in transport infrastructure that will encourage active travel such as walking and cycling, and ensure good public transport provision. This means investing in pedestrian areas, in cycle paths that are on par with those in continental European cities, and ensuring that all public transport is affordable and accessible. This is what the video aims to illustrate."
