Welcome for CCF award to SAYLSA
Paul Tetlaw, Chair of Transform Scotland, said:
"We welcome the award to SAYLSA to help them develop the Ayr to Stranraer railway line.
"Our 'Rail Regeneration Study' published in 2009 looked specifically at opportunities for greater community involvement in the line, ways that the line can be better marketed and patronage increased.
"It is a hidden gem and fully deserves the type of recognition given to the West Highland lines. We believe that it can play a much bigger role in serving the local community and bringing welcome tourists to the area.
"We will be happy to support SAYLSA in their efforts."
