Welcome for new ScotRail timetable
Paul Tetlaw, Transform Scotland rail campaigner, said:
"The May timetable in Scotland offers some very welcome new services from ScotRail.
"Most notable is the increase from 3 to six trains per day on the Oban line. This now offers the opportunity to heavily market this scenic line and the onward connections that are available from Oban. We look to Visit Scotland to play their full part in promoting rail travel on this and the many other scenic routes in Scotland.
"In the North East additional services between Aberdeen and Inverurie will help to address the ever growing demand for rail services into Aberdeen. What is now needed is additional infrastructure especially on the routes to Aberdeen to allow further development of services to Scotland's third city."
