Welcome for resolution of Princes Street tram dispute
Transform Scotland welcomed the resolution of the dispute over works to construct Edinburgh's new tram system. Director Colin Howden said:
"This is excellent news, and we look forward to seeing the first tram tracks for Edinburgh's new public transport system being laid on Princes Street over the next few months.
"All new major construction projects of this type will invariably run into difficult periods such as that seen over the past month during the course of the dispute. As a project on the main street in our capital city, it is inevitable that the tram scheme will be in the public eye. But it is shameful that the Scottish media and our Parliamentarians fail to impose the same levels of scrutiny on Scotland's multi-billion pound road-building programme as they do on public transport schemes like the Edinburgh trams."
